Our Mission
At Wal-Mart, we’re committed to acting as a globally responsible citizen, and we strive to improve the quality of life for our associates, customers and communities through financial contributions, in-kind donations and volunteerism. Our PhilosophyOur community involvement program is based on the philosophy of operating globally and giving back locally. In our experience, we can do the most good by supporting issues and causes that are important to our customers and associates in their own neighborhoods. We rely on our associates to know which organizations are the most critical to their hometowns, and we empower them to determine how Wal-Mart Foundation dollars will be spent. Consequently, our associates channel our funding initiatives directly into their local communities. ImplementationOur approach to community involvement is unique, combining both financial and volunteer support. We encourage our associates to get involved in their local communities and to support the programs that are making a positive difference.
